NHOH’s Friedlander Named "Top Doc"

HOOKSETT, NH – For the fourth year that the honor has been given, a physician at New Hampshire Oncology-Hematology, PA, has been named as a New Hampshire Top Doc by NH Magazine. Robert Friedlander, Jr., MD, of the regional group practice, has been named the top physician in the field of hematology/oncology, as judged by other physicians in the state.

Friedlander is featured as a "Top Doc" in April’s edition of New Hampshire Magazine. The distinction is the result of a survey sent to New Hampshire physicians by the magazine. The survey asked, "If you or a loved one were sick, which physician would you choose?" This year, the magazine received its highest return rate in the survey – 13 percent, according to the magazine’s assistant editor, Sheila Frost.

Thirty-two physicians were nominated in the field of hematology/oncology, Frost said.
Dr. Friedlander joined New Hampshire Oncology-Hematology, PA, in 1987. He is founder of Innisfree Cancer Help, a non-profit organization that was created to help ease the distress of the cancer experience. Today, the former organization’s website, www.InnisfreeCancerHelp.org, is a valued resource for information and events from around the state for cancer patients and their families.

Dr. Friedlander sees patients in greater Manchester and in the Lakes Region. New Hampshire Oncology-Hematology’s nine physicians practice in five locations in New Hampshire – Hooksett, Concord, Laconia, Exeter, and Derry.

"Bob is well deserving of this honor, and being recognized by so many fellow physicians makes the honor that much more meaningful," said Denis Hammond, MD, himself a former recipient of the honor. "He is a dedicated professional, with a strong sense of commitment to his patients and the communities we serve. His patients and their families have great confidence in him as a physician and caregiver. We at NHOH are extremely proud of Bob and his achievements."

The magazine publishes the names of "Top Docs" in 42 specialty medical fields.
