My
name is Priscilla Ziegler. I live in Concord, New Hampshire. I am
an IT Manager for the State of New Hampshire.
Ive
always had problems with lumps. When I lived in Connecticut, they
would aspirate them. When I moved to New Hampshire, they didnt
seem to do that kind of practice, so it was always a call back.
This time when there was a call back, you just had that gut feeling
that this was not going to be good.
I
would categorize myself today as very, very lucky. Very, very lucky
to have had the best care that I could even imagine.
Im
not into doctors. Im not into hospitals. I hate both of them,
but when I first met with Dr. Briccetti, he took almost two and
a half to three hours with me. Ive never, ever, ever had that
kind of time with a doctor before.
My
encounters were absolutely unbelievable. From being greeted by Nicki
at the front desk, always cheerful, always has candy, to Maria who
would
was the only person that I would allow to take my blood,
because I have such a fear of needles, and she always calmed me
through the entire process. And, Dr. Mike, when Dr. Briccetti wasnt
around was, he was just super. You know, all of them were professional,
but I think, besides Dr. Brccetti, my two favorites were Maria and
Glenna. I would say that Glenna, she was the one that administrated
chemo, and she is a chemo goddess, who can deliver in such a way
that youre not fearful. Youre totally relaxed. She just
has a certain way about her that was very comforting.
The
first thing that I would say to somebody is, if at all possible,
dont be scared. Take a deep breath. I would tell them that
you will be in the best hands ever from start to finish. Even if
its calling at one oclock or two oclock in the
morning with pain, they will respond immediately. They will let
you know and they are very concerned about any type of side effects
and what you can do about them. And they will help you all the way.
They will hold your hand. They will give you hugs. They are wonderful!
The
best thing about New Hampshire Oncology is, people are first.
